A Successful AWCCA Technical Training & Exchange Symposium in Ho Chi Minh City

On October 31,2017, the Asian Wire & Cable Industry Cooperation Alliance (AWCCA) and the Electrical Cable Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HECA) jointly organized a special training and technical exchange symposium. Entrusted by the AWCCA secretariat, Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI) invited technical experts from China to give lectures, which attracted nearly 50 corporate participants from the HECA. This exchange symposium was the first face-to-face activity that SECRI had conducted with Vietnamese cable companies.

The training first started with the introduction of SECRI and its major services by Mr. Jiang Bin, Deputy Director of the SECRI; followed by further discussion on “Medium and Low Voltage Cable Technology and Market Dynamics in China”, “the Interpretation of Standards and Testing Solutions of Communication Cables” and “The IEC & Chinese National Standards of Testing Methods for Wire & Cable and its development trends”, “China Compulsory Certification (CCC) System and Testing Technology” between SECRI experts Mr. SUN Jiansheng, Mr. TU Jiankun and Mr. YE Qinghua, and the Vietnamese company representatives. During the symposium, SECRI experts learned about the needs of Vietnamese companies and talked about Chinese cables products and technologies, testing technology services, and internationally recognized testing service projects, which enhanced the sound communication and trust between the Chinese cable industry, HECA and its members. The event played a positive role in increasing AWCCA’s influence in Southeast Asia.

The 2018 AWCCA General Meeting will be held in Shanghai in September 2018. All new and old members of AWCCA will gather in Shanghai to share the development achievements and information of the Asian wire and cable industry.
