The Electric Cable and Wire Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association (ECWB-CEEIA) is established as a non-profit national cable industry organization on an equal and voluntary basis. Members are manufacturing enterprises and related supporting enterprises in fields of wire and cable or optical fiber and cable, related scientific research, design, educational institutions, engineering complete sets, sales, and qualified inter-industry economic organizations and groups.


The purpose of CEEIA-ECWB is to comply with the Chinese Constitution, laws, regulations, and national policies with no offense to social ethics and customs, to serve members, industry, and government on behalf of the common interests of the wire and cable industry and members’ legal rights. It is required to play the role of “bridge” and “bond” between the government and members, the industry and various links inside and outside the industry, and exert the influence of self-discipline in coordinating the relationship and behavior among members, serving as an important support for the government to manage the industry, a significant channel to develop the industry’s technology and economy, an important window to popularize the cable industry, and an important platform for closer exchanges with the industry at home and abroad. Ultimately, it can make positive contributions to the revitalization and development of the wire and cable industry and create value for both the industry and members in China.


Currently it has more than 500 members, including most wire and cable manufacturing enterprises with a certain scale in China and influential suppliers of special equipment and raw materials.


The CEEIA-ECWB has 8 professional departments, including conductor wires, cables and wires for electrical equipments, power cables and accessories, communication cables and optical cables, winding wires, rubber and plastic materials, electrical equipment, and international cooperation and exchanges.


The secretariat is located in Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI).
